In most cars, changing the heater core requires that you empty out all the engine coolant, then get inside your car and take apart your center console until the core is accessible. To find out how involved it is for your Sunfire, check a service manual or go to an auto store and look it up in a chilton's book. In my opinion it's not hard, but it is a pain in the ***. I recommend having a six-pack on standby.
