Has anyone changed a heater core for a 98 Ford Taurus.?
Well if your car has A/C the cost goes waaaay up. This job requires the ENTIRE dash including the steering wheel and collum to be removed. To a tech experienced with replacing them its a 3 hour job. (I've done it that fast and I work mostly with BMWs) However by the book its like a 8 hour job, I would have to look it up to be sure. But at 100 bucks an hour plus parts it usually a 1000 dollar job. There are plenty of techs who who can do this just waiting for you to place an ad on Craigslist. I think you can get a person to do it better than a shop for say 500 plus parts or lower. Its common for people to think they get a better repair done at a shop or dealership for $100's more, this is NOT true.

not a good idea
Remove the heater core cover, as for the dash, loosen it on the sides and pull about 2 inches, then slide out the heater core
