Meh...I wouldn't trust anything that's not stainless steel to be %26quot;rust proof%26quot;. %26quot;Rust Resistant%26quot; means it %26quot;resists%26quot; rust, meaning it can still rust (the metal is probably treated with a rust proof coating). 2001 Taurus? Go for it.

a heater core can be a very easy job if you know what you are doing it takes a lot of time yes but fairly easy. but you can also run in to a lot of other problems along the way a licensed auto shop should really do this and they grantee all of the work auto zone will guarantee the parts but a shop will usually get better parts with longer warranty's and for less money talk to your local shop before starting this project i get that you are tyring to save money doing it this way but talk to them first it may save you in the long run
