Basically the heater core is under the dash. The connecting hoses are on the firewall. I don't know what type of car you are talking about. I hope it isn't a Mustang or Jeep. Tip if the heater core is leaking, do you live where you are going to need the heater an defroster in the winter? If not, by-pass the core by connecting the two heater hoses together.

depends on vehicle....changed core in 1980 Mustang....pulled out thru glove compartment///15 minutes....if vehicle has A/C, it may take 6 hours by a certified mechanic in a fully equipped shop.
