Ford Econovan heater wont work. Changed heater core and hoses yet still cant get hot coolant to the heater?

I have changed and cleaned the pipes from the engine to the heater, replaced the thermistat and heater core and given a general tidy up to the fan and heat system. the engine is heating up perfectly but both heater hoses remain cold. i just have run out of ideas. thanks for your help. Trav|||hose out of water pump should be hot remove a hose and crank motor see if theres a flow of coolant or not might be what some call heater control switch|||are you sure your engine is heating up perfectly. could be thermastat in backwards or water valve turned off.something is not letting water circulate|||You may have an air pocket preventing the flow of air, I would suggest putting in a bleeder valve by the heater core of possible this will allow you to visually see flow and know the actual tempeature of coolant.|||There is a may be a valve in the hose to the heater which is controlled by the knob in the dash.

Some vehicles use a %26quot;blend door%26quot; which makes the air deflect around the heater core.

Regardless look for problems in the control system, either cables or vacuum lines.

I just read the Q again and it sounds maybe the water pump isn%26#039;t workinig. Sometimes the impeller inside the pump snaps off but the outside part seems to be ok. On second thought this would make the engine run hot at idle (after a while). So I don%26#039;t know.|||Sounds like you have an airlock in the heater core...Disconnect the return hose at the engine and once coolant flows from the hose put it back on%26gt;
